#2013alive: Re-homing Our Odds and Ends

We’re preparing for month 5, week 3 of our 12 Months of Wellness – finding homes for those items that are too precious (or useful) to send away.

This week for our 12 Months of Wellness, we’ve been busy sorting through our “sell/donate” pile. We’ve decided the best ways to get rid our old clothing, abandoned small appliances, and unloved trinkets—either donating them a good cause, giving them away so that they can be reloved, or making some spare change in a garage sale.

Let’s give ourselves a round of applause and start to look forward to next week, when we sort through the “storage”  section of our sorted items, and give all of our homeless knickknacks a place of their own.

Creating Storage Solutions

There are a few different ways to prepare for next week. For instance, you can sort through your storage container and decide what items should be stored together such as seasonal items or decorations, blankets and bed sheets, important paperwork, electronics, and so on.

Or, if it’s time to start looking at new furniture, you might want to look at pieces that do double duty—furniture such as ottomans or chests work as wonderful space-savers that also work as stylish coffee tables or benches for the foot of a bed.
